PANTRY INFORMATION

(559) HALO-717 info@halocafe.org

How to Obtain Services

Fresno Animal Center building with address overlay on clear day.

Call (559) 425-6717 Before Each Visit:

The message on this line is updated and available 24 hours a day, making it the fastest way to access information about the Fresno pet food pantry. This service will also keep you informed about any last-minute changes to our schedule or location. Our current distribution site is out of the Fresno Animal Center, 5277 E Airways Blvd, Fresno, CA 93727 (inside the community room located on the far right of the building).

Please Note:

The Fresno Animal Center lets us borrow their space to hold the pantries once a month. We are a separate organization operating a few times a year out of the shelter. Please do not contact the shelter for Halo information. Any questions regarding Halo can be directed to us via our contact channels.

What to Bring:

  1. Spay/Neuter Certificates for ALL your dogs and cats. If they are not yet fixed, return for food when they are. Or if you’re actively working on fixing one every month, you can return with proof. By Halo saving you money on food, you should be able to afford the spay/neuter surgery with one of the low-cost clinics. If you need help getting them fixed, we can assist.
  2. Low-Income Verification (EBT card, MediCal, SSI/Disability/Unemployment Benefit Letter, paystub)
  3. Photo ID

Once you present these documents, you'll become a Fast Pass Member and receive a punch card that you bring to every visit. This card is renewed yearly, allows you to to receive your food quicker and grants you 6 visits per year.

Pantry Policies:

  • You cannot add new pets from the ones listed during your initial enrollment. Spay/neuter and maintain your primary pets first. Adding more animals to your house means you have funds to care for new ones and don't need our assistance.

  • We are a TEMPORARY AID for struggling families. Do not take food if you can afford to feed your pets. There are people in truly difficult situations.

  • If on your next visit, you have not made progress, we will not be able to provide food until your pets are spayed/neutered. Owners only get one visit without proof, and afterwards will be turned away until we get the spay/neuter documents.

  • Our mission is Pet Retention by preventing food insecurity and unwanted pregnancies.

  • We do not aid breeders.

Visiting Pets:

Well-socialized pets are welcome at the pantry. Our favorite part of each distribution is meeting our furry clients, snapping a photo of them, and highlighting their super-cuteness on our Facebook page. We enjoy helping feed pets through our pet pantry program and look forward to seeing you!
